SJ Kitchens Change Control Process.




1. Change Request Submission

  • Any changes to the agreed scope of works must be requested in writing by the client.

  • Requests can be submitted via email or by filling out a Change Request Form provided by SJ Kitchens.

  • Verbal change requests will not be actioned until documented in writing.

2. Evaluation of Change Request

  • Upon receiving the request, SJ Kitchens will review the proposed change to assess:

    • Impact on project scope.

    • Additional costs, if any.

    • Effect on the project timeline.

  • If the change involves materials, we will confirm availability and lead times with suppliers.

3. Change Proposal

  • A formal Change Proposal will be sent to the client, detailing:

    • The nature of the change.

    • Any revised costs (increase or decrease).

    • Any adjustments to the timeline.

    • Any impact on warranties or guarantees.

  • The client will have up to 5 business days to review and approve or decline the Change Proposal.

4. Client Approval

  • Changes will only proceed after the client provides written approval of the Change Proposal.

  • Approval is confirmed once the client signs the Change Proposal or provides written confirmation via email.

5. Payment for Changes

  • Additional costs associated with the change must be paid as follows:

    • Changes under £500: Payment required upfront before work begins.

    • Changes over £500: 50% payment upfront, with the balance added to the final invoice.

  • No changes will be implemented until the agreed payment has been received.

6. Implementation of Changes

  • Approved changes will be integrated into the project schedule.

  • SJ Kitchens will provide an updated project timeline and, if necessary, adjust site activities to accommodate the changes.

7. Documentation

  • All approved changes will be documented as a formal Variation Order.

  • The Variation Order will be attached to the original contract and form part of the agreed terms.

8. Communication

  • The client will be updated on progress and any further implications caused by the changes throughout the project.
